It's me again! I frequently get asked where I get my inspiration for my designs, and today I thought that I'd talk about that. I mostly get inspired by color, although now and then a theme will just strike my fancy. I love to walk around the bed and bath departments and the clothing departments at my local super store. Sometimes the color combinations make me cringe, but sometimes one will really strike my fancy.
I have a whole folder full of color swatches that I like, and when I go to start a new kit, I just look and see what's in there that gets the ideas rolling. Sometimes I look at a swatch that I made and wonder what I was thinking of to have ever come up with that combination. Sometimes I just surf the web and something will pop into my head and I'll be off. I actually name my kits before I start them, so I start the process with a preconceived notion of what the finished kit will look like. Sometimes that works for me, but more often it doesn't and I end up renaming the kit (and all the pieces) before I can zip it up for the store.
I almost never end up with the kit that I was envisioning when I started it. I'll start off, but about halfway through it will start to take on a life of it's own. One of the few kits that came out almost exactly as I pictured it is First Bell.
One that came out totally different from what I first saw in my head is Sweet Pea.
I pictured this coming out much softer, but I really like the vibrant yet feminine look that it ended up with.
I have another download for the Sunny Skies Key Plate Album for you today.
I'll be back to chatter at y'all some more tomorrow, but in the meantime I hope that y'all like today's download.

I'm certainly not a designer but I love to hear how others "find" their awesome ideas for kit combinations - thanks for sharing.
This is a very sweet album - thanks for another page!
I hate it when I feel like an idiot. I have visited everyday to get the pretty little album downloads and just cannot figure out how to get it. I don't find a download link anywhere. Am I blind...or just stupid???
