Let me start today with a little store business...
1. Remember that my entire store at Digitals is 30% off through July 31st.
2. Be sure to post a layout to the Font Free 4 All monthly challenge... I have the privilege of hosting it and I think it is the easiest of the Digitals Monthly Challenges. If you are going to scrap anyway, why not get a posting bonus for it? Please join me!
3. Be sure to check out the Bonus Downloads in the Digitals Gallery... you'll love these FREE OFFERINGS from our very talented Digitals designers.
4. If you have the time, I'd love to have your honest review for any of my designs in the Digitals Store. The comments must be approved, so you won't see your review right away, but please do leave a review if you can.
Now, a little question-and-answer session from a few questions I got via email.
Where do I get my ideas for kits?
Usually, I create out of necessity. I'll have something I want to scrap and I don't see anything already created by other fabulous Digitals designers that suits my topic or theme just right, so I make a few backgrounds and elements of my own. Sometimes, on those days where my caffeine and red blood cells are just in the correct balance, I'll have the energy and ideas to create entire kits!
What are my favorite scrapping subjects?
Like many scrappers, I started scrapping because of my children; to preserve for them memories they might not remember when they get older. To this day, I still have tons of photos that I want to scrap and will probably never get time to scrap- especially since I started taking digital photos! In general, my family is my favorite scrap subject. Since the divorce, and since my boys live in Washington state, I am even more desperate to save as many memories of our time together as possible. What makes it tough is that now they are teenagers, and as some of you may know, teenage boys are not so keen on posing for their mother's scrapbook all the time. Still, sometimes they indulge me and I am honored with some real smiles every now and then!
How did the name "Scrap4Brains" come about?
Ex-husband thought of it for me, actually. I think it was meant to be more of an insult, but I love puns and thought it would be different and memorable. For a while, scrapping was all I ever thought about... I was REALLY addicted. Now, I really appreciate the time I have to scrap and create and wish I could do more.
When I re-married, I thought it best to stay with my business name, Scrap4Brains, so everyone would still know where to find my designs... exclusive here at Digitals!
Am I working on anything new?
Yes! I have in the works another video-game related kit. Remember that I create for necessity, and I have a lot of pictures of our kids and their video games, so I need another kit! I am hoping to have it in the Digitals Store by mid-August.
I wish I could give you a sneak peak, but to be honest, I'm having a hard time creating backgrounds. In the meantime, though, please check out my Portable Play kit, the first video game related kit I created.
If you have kids, you'll know that the above "portables" are slightly old-school and you know why I need a new one!
Thanks again for reading. Remember that I will remove the links and downloads on August 2nd, so get them before they are gone!
