Katie Mann - Blog Hostess Aug 13th

Hey! Can you believe that my week as Blog Hostess is halfway over already? It seems like I just started doing this.

Today we designers started talking about when school will start and it struck me that I only have 1 1/2 weeks left before I'll be sending my little man back to school! I can hardly wait for those school night and first day of school photos, but I can't believe that he's in 2nd grade already. I can still clearly see him in my mind on his first day of Kindergarten, and I can't believe that was TWO YEARS ago!

Thinking about the first day of school got me to thinking about all of the things that I loved about the new school year when I was a kid (back in the stone age!) I still love the smell of a fresh box of crayons, the look of a whole pack of freshly sharpened pencils, and a big stack of new paper. They always seem to hold so many possibilities to me. Maybe that's the real reason that I design. I was able to translate that feeling of possibilities from my crayon pack to a blank photoshop window... although erasing the Photoshop window or undoing things I don't like comes a lot easier in Photoshop.

Yes, I'm a Photoshop user. Several years ago, a friend decided to get her Graphic Arts Certificate, and after being out of school for 20 years, she didn't want to go by herself. So she talked me into it. That was back when Photoshop 4.0 was state of the art, and I thought I'd hit Nirvana. I've dabbled with PSP a time or two, but it's never come easily or naturally to me, so I've stuck with what I know.

Two more days to get all of these great girl-themed kits on sale for 50% off!

I have another download for the Sunny Skies Key Plate Album for you today, and I hope you enjoy it!

I'll be back tomorrow!
