There's a saying in the south about the weather... It's not the heat, it's the humidity.

Well, actually, today in Charleston, SC, it was both. I know that I'll have a hard time concentrating at work when I check my email at 6 am and see the burning thermometer in my weather alert. It is then that I start to think of excuses to call into work so I can either stay at home and lounge by the community pool or go to the beach. (Gosh, I hope my boss doesn't read this blog!) Even with the horrible heat and humidity, as Dorothy and Toto would say, "there's no place like home!"

I returned to Charleston after the divorce... literally, I ran home to mommy! My family is now all in the "low country" and I can't tell you how nice it is to be home for each holiday surrounded by my big, crazy, loud, Italian-Filipino family. It seems that I can only persuade them to sit for a photo for Thanksgiving, though. I made it a family tradition and for the past few years, they don't fuss at me when I tell them it is picture time. Here's the one from Thanksgiving 2007...

I made the above layout for the July 2008 Scripture Challenge hosted by Glenda. I used my Sunset Page kit, available through July 31st for just $3.85!!!


I have yet to use this kit for the photos that I intended... that gorgeous Carolina sunset. When I created this kit, I was scheduled to take those photos, but I can't remember what happened and I never got my sunset photo... and so the kit is still waiting for that perfect photo. It will be soon, though... I want to be able to take the boys on a photo shoot at the beach. I'm still dreading those notorious late afternoon thunderstorms. Every time I'm ready to head out, the thunder and lightening scare me and keep me off the beach.

Still, I know I'll get my perfect sunset photo soon and when I do, I can scrap it right away, since I already have the kit! LOL! If you have any digital photo tips for capturing that perfect sunset, I'd appreciate the input.
